No front plate on mine. The grills are really designed for European license plates and US ones just do not go well in my opinion.

I agree that I think it would look odd to have a U.S. plate over the grill. But my state requires front plates so want to figure out what my options are to avoid that. Thanks

I always mount mine dead center. I'd rather wipe my butt with my dollar than to pay a penny for silly parking tickets. |

I have carbonio also, very happy with it from the perspective of it being very quick to attach and remove as I generally leave it in the trunk and only put the front plate on for specific situations. Personally not a fan of the tow hook mount look.

It accepts plate frames just fine, too, so you can your personal bit of whimsy along with it to soften the blow of having to put it on there in the first place. |

No front plate for me for 10 years in NYC. I have gotten pulled over twice (no ticket) and have received 2 tickets @ $65 each. That's $130 over 10 years, $13 a year, 3.5 cents/day to not ruin the look of every car with a front plate. What is the Taco Bell slogan? Live Mas?

I mount mine in my trunk. In all seriousness, it's never been an issue in Austin

I do zip ties and only put my front plate on if I know Im going to be parked somewhere in NYC a long time.
NYPD and Long island cops will not usually stop you for just a front plate missing. However, the NYPD meter maids will ticket you all day long for no front plate. |

Do the dealerships still drill holes for the plate? Mine had the license plate screws and mounting hardware in the trunk.
Curious if anyone had their bumpers drilled before they could protest? |

Might need to opt for the other brand that’s a little more expensive. |

My front plate is mounted in a cupboard somewhere in my garage. Technically in Cali you do need it, but a not insignificant minority of people drive without it and so far I haven't had any trouble. I was pulled over for speeding the other day (ironically the day I took my wife's 4-banger Q7 rather than the M3). I suspect if I'd been driving the M3 with no front plate they just would have tacked that onto the bill.
