After spending 2-1/2 hours on the track in the Texas sun today on the track over 6 hours, can’t imagine staying focused for hours at a time. After 25 or so minutes my focus was lost!

I’m a big fan.
When I retire in about five years my Wife and I are heading to Europe to live for a few years and this is a must whilst we are there. I’m watching the stream on YouTube. Last edited by HFW003; 08-22-2021 at 12:31 AM.. |

I have done some of my engineering degree at city of Lemans, we went to the track at night to see the cars during testing before the race, it was pretty amazing.
I love seeing the glowing brake discs at night.

I went to Le Mans in 2003 for the Bentley win, bit of a foregone conclusion though as Audi hadn't entered any works cars, great weekend nonetheless.
The drive there & back in the E39 540i 6spd manual V8 was the highlight of the trip

I had plans to attend the 1974 race after college, but never made it.
So many memorable moments....Peter Dumbrek's pirouetting MB WSC at a high rate of speed. And the movie....released in 1971....will never forget seeing it on the big screen in San Diego CA and the infamous lines that are still with me today: "A lot of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well. When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting." "This isn't just a thousand to one shot. Racing is a blood sport....it can happen to you, and then it can happen to you again". "Michael, I want you to drive flat out. I want Porsche to win Le Mans".
