I don't get why this car has M mirrors. Yes it has an M appearance package but is bmw now putting M mirrors on appearance packages?

Yes, at least for the new 2-series, along with the power dome.

Even if I purchase an M2, I have no problem with these items trickling down to the M240i.

Yes, at least for the new 2-series, along with the power dome.

I am all about different trims looking different. The M mirror is (was) a signature - not anymore.

You got the grillz which is now the most distinctive element of the M3/M4, nobody will mistake a G42 for a G82. Perhaps that's why they figured throwing M mirrors on the G42 is now a non-issue.

True except that a base model 4 series has the same grill. Not sure what BMW is doing with appearance distinction between models.

Not really upset but the whole point of appearance package is model distinction. You used to see a car coming behind you from a distance and you could tell if it's an M car most by the mirror.

Agreed. I'm seriously looking at an M240 but need to see it in the metal. I'm sold on the drive train (even the auto is OK) but am not too crazy about the Mified appearance. Wish it were more of a sleeper.

It will be a very nice car. I'm a huge fan of the 240. Very special engine.

Honestly they had me at the powerdome, the "M" mirrors are just bonus!

I still maintain the previous 2er had awkward looks, this is honestly the closest modern looking BMW to my E46 IMO (Which I'm never selling)

They'll look nice together, also purple was always my face BMW colour and I kick myself every day for passing up the few techno violet E46 M3s that have come up over the past few years.

At this stage I don't even care about an M2, M240i will do me fine.

I had 2006 E46 330i coupe w/6 speed manual & sports pkg.. I hear you, that car was sweet and beautiful. I've owned 3 BMWs and that by far was my favorite. Wish I could buy another one but garage is full and new 230i on Order

Agreed! i am pumped on the new M240i. so much improvement over the last gen
