Trade in on 230i
Those of you that have already taken delivery and traded your old car in, how good of a trade credit did you receive?

I always avoid trading in with the same dealer I buy from...that said, I sold my 2019 GLI S w DSG for 27700 to Carvana. Hell, I sold it in sweats, crocs and socks in my front yard too...just an incredible process.
Damn car was just over $28K MSRP back in the day. This market is nuts, so I assume BMW is giving out good numbers, but the games they play with the two transactions always bugs the snot out of me. |

Same here. I always avoid trading my current car with the dealer I am buying from. Sold my previously bought used 15 GTI DSG (sold it for same price I got it for after owning it for 2 years) to Carvana. Ended up buying a barely used 19 GTI DSG and selling it to Carvana this week for 3k more than what I paid for last year when I bought it.
Certainly made my decision easier to order a 240i Last edited by mechman; 12-14-2021 at 11:01 PM.. |

I traded my 3-year-old BMW 330i. I checked with KBB and CarMax a few months ago and just checked again before I headed to the dealer. In those few months the value of my particular car gained around $5,000 on the used market. The dealer came back with a first number that I was really happy with that closely matched my research, and which in 45-years of buying cars has never happened on the first go around. Even so I thought I would push harder and I got another $800 for my trade on top of a number that was already extremely good. However, you will most likely not get much if any discount on new orders. Even so it was still a better deal than I expected. Bob |

I have not sold to Carvana but have received quotes from them and they have been very competitive and I would recommend checking them out. Another solid option that I have both bought and sold from is Vroom.

In this market it's prob best to get offers from CarMax, Carvana and Zroom before you do anything. That said I got close to MSRP from BMW on my trade in when purchasing my m240.

I sold my 2019 GTI Rabbit edition with 15k miles to Carvana for $30k, sticker was $29k! Also sold my 2018 X1 with 25k miles for $33k, both prices much higher than any dealer was offering. The process was also very easy and straightforward, highly recommended.
