New exhaust tips coming for 2023?

I was watching the two BMW Blog videos talking to the designer of the new 7 and also X7 LCI. He mentioned that they want to bring more M touches to the M performance models. The designer stated this began with the M240i and will continue will all future M perf models. One of the elements are the M style mirrors but the other one he mention are quad tailpipes which you can see on the M sport X7 and M760. Perhaps along with the iDrive 8 display, we'll get quad exhaust tips in 2023. Hopefully the tips can be easily retrofitted to 2022 models whenever they come.

I would be pumped to see the quad tails on the '23 but, I hope there's an easy to install retrofit kit to quickly get rid of the trapezoidal fake tips on the '22.

I'm surprised nobody found generic/universal tips with the correct size pipe diameter that will fit. Does it need to mate up to a special fitting?

Yes there are a few originally designed for the M340 and they appear to fit. But I would love factory quad tips that are not round. I believe the round quad tips are for the full M models. Thr M Perf quad tips are still squarish shaped.

Exhaust tips likes these, but more of the hexagonal shape on the 2022 G42 M240?

You’re not going to see anything happen to this for 3+ years. You won’t see a screen upgrade or anything before it happens on the M340 which is due for an lci 2 years sooner.

That's the expectation but reports from insiders seem to think the screen is scheduled for 2023. It would just become the i4 dash which itself is just a update of the 2/3/4 series dash but with the iDrive8. In a way to streamlines the production to just support common part across all of those series assuming they have capacity to make them all.
