I’m going for PB and cognac Color scheme as well. Only difference are the wheels, I’m going for the 893 but I think the blue and cognac are going to look great. I’ve had a couple people tell me I should stick with black interior but I think the cognac will really pop and give a different look than the sea of black. Good luck with your decision! I know I keep calling my rep to add items, I just wish they would lock me in already!

Sorry what does this mean? My sales rep is the absolute worst, I haven’t been provided with any info and I put my order in first week of February.

I'm 6'1" 275 and I don't think I need the bolster lumbar adjustment. When I sat in the m240 with the cognac sensatec, it felt soft and like real leather. Would anyone agree that big guys really don't need the bolster/lumbar adjustment ?

150 status means "scheduled for production".

111 and 112 status is when the dealership gets an allocation and that's when your build can still be modified to the way you like. When it is in 112 status, it can go into 150 status at any time. Once it's in 150, that's it.. that's the way the car is getting built.

As far as your salesman goes, it's pretty common because there is nothing to update you with, because they probably don't have a allocation yet. Once he gets one, he can update you with that, or as it gets done being built etc.

Good info, thanks. I've ordered the m240i in PB with black w/ blue trim vernasca. I'd actually prefer the cognac color, but I think I would like the leather over the sensatec. My dealer still has no allocation, though. I'm thinking of cancelling and going out of state with one that has an allocation now.

How long have you been waiting? It's pretty much the same everywhere. Unless your in the west coast. There is only 100 allocations in the whole nation as of right now.

I've been waiting over a month is all. But he told me that they got their batch of allocations in a few days ago, but the m240i wasn't one of them. What is the frequency dealerships get allocations, once a month?

It really just depends on the market and how many that dealership sells of that specific model. The more 2 series they sell, the more allocations they get. Certain stores may sell more 7 series than other dealerships, so they get more 7 series allocations than others.

I was ready to pull the trigger on a BTO when a previously owned car with less than 8K presented itself— an estoril blue F22 with a cognac interior. Cognac was NOT what I had designed for my new car (was going to go the Superman route), but I’ll be damned if I didn’t grow to love it. And the compliments I’ve received have been many— conspicuously so.

I’ve got a thundernight M240 on order, and someday I’ll have it. But it seriously burns that I could not have vernasca with lumbar. It would have been the perfect compliment. Idiotic decision not to offer it, in my opinion.

But I digress…. To the OP— blue and cognac are an absolute home run. If you can live without the lumbar support feature, then don’t hesitate to go for it.

Being I just sat in both for sure you can tell them apart. Not even getting into the looks because sen looks so cheap compared to Ver. For $1400 on a car like this is trivial. Again, the color your after it might not even be a option.

I agree. It's a home run for me, and I appreciate the feedback. The reason it doesn't have the lumbar is simply bc of the chip shortages

SupraCooper Out of curiosity, how do you know only 100 M240 allocations have been sent to the USA? If true, that is an incredibly small production number!

I personally really really really hate thundernight on this car. I think the color does not suit the car at all, with the polarizing design of this car, thundernight seems to just emphasize it and makes it overall seem uglier. I think portimao blue looks great on this vehicle especially with the shadowline trim and that's what I went with. I think BSM is a very safe option that looks great on this car as well.

Thundernight is the color that attracted me to this model. I feel just the opposite of you in that I think it perfectly accentuates the design cues of this vehicle. AG knew what they were doing when they selected Thundernight as the signature color, just like they did with Valencia orange on the 1 M. PB, BG and BSM are solid choices, but if you want a color that pops they all pale compared to Thundernight.

Some people don't want a color that stands out, and others such as myself want something that stands out from the sea of whites, grays and blacks in the world.

Both crowds are right.

Getting back on topic, I think Cognac is a great choice with PB. It is one of the few interiors that matches well with all of the available exterior colors. I only wished we had the option of getting it in leather here in the US.

Bc I'm a bmw client advisor. I have access to the bmw na dealer portal known as the "DAR ". This was months ago so there is probably more allocations now. I'm not at the office so I can't check
