Agree 100%. The M3/4 for instance were officially revealed late September of 2020 and went into production in the first week of November. So I don't understand the logic of counting backwards to July. If we use the M3/4 reveal timeline to count backwards that would place the G87 reveal sometime in September or October timeframe.
Anything is possible and they may decide to reveal it earlier to gin up interest and really milk this. But until that actually happens I don't believe it'll be officially revealed until tail end of summer or early fall. |

Nope. No one has. BMW launched a massive investigation once they saw my other thread so the car has been locked down ever since. Red flags were raised all the way up to the CEO apparently. It was surprising to me to hear that BMW has a secret team that goes through ALL posts made here on Bimmerpost. So if in the past anyone was ever wondering if they'd see their post, they absolutely are and do see every single person's comments haha

My leak was not part of their plan, so they launched the investigation. They are losing their minds from what I hear

45 days puts us in mid July… It is truly a guessing game for those that are not internal at BMW. One thing is for certain, it will leak sooner than the “official reveal.” FYI, I am solely basing that on the recent leaks, X7 LCI, i7, New 7, and today with the new X1. It maybe deliberate?
Edit: The G42 was leaked as well. Last edited by T_U_D; 05-31-2022 at 03:42 PM.. |

I'll be honest, I went and finally saw an M240i in person yesterday at a BMW dealership in Newport Beach. That car is just too big for my tastes which means the new M2 might be a "no go" for me due to size. I really dislike bigger cars.

Any new news on the differences between the standard and the comp spec? If BMW is listening, the M2 is the new enthusiast platform, meaning, we don't want power to be limited to transmission choice.

The only thing that might really lure me in is if the handling of the G87 is seriously improved over the F87C. And also the thought of it having carbon buckets and it being the last pure ICE M.
