Any thoughts next gen BMW releasing an M2 and/or M2C?
My 21 F87 is my first bimmer, so I don't have the history around their release schedule.
What's the view on the upcoming M2 offering? Will we get an M2C immediately? Or an M2 followed by an M2C? Trying to figure out how much effort to expend with my dealer. LOL. |

I suspect the competition and standard car will release at the same time. It seems to be BMW's new formula. We'll know in a few weeks though, we're not too far from the official unveiling.

Lots of discussion on it over at the G87 subforum: https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/fo...=942/index.php
I think the consensus over there is that G87 M2 will be announced and released prior to G87 M2C. I haven't heard anything about how long the time inbetween the two will be. |

Probably both flavors will be offered just like the other M cars. I liked the basic nature of the M2/M2C where you got what you got and options were very limited (sans MPE and CF bits), but BMW is gonna milk this cow big time

Just wanted to put this out there. Very sad but expected. Tough road ahead for us petrolheads. |

All the comments on the photo has now been disabled on Instagram (which I find hilarious) but the first day the photo of the G87 rear end dropped, someone in those comments from "BMWBlog" claimed that the Competition version of the M2 will not have a said distinguishing badge because there will be only one version of the M2, which will already be Competition-ed out, so a badge is not necessary.. https://instagram.com/p/Ceg5TCIMm_3/ God, I just hate every unsubstantiated claims from all these so-called "insiders," with nothing to verify their credentials. It just serves to confused folks even further and when the actual opposite scenario transpires, they just crawl back in their hole, until it's time to dribble some other nonsense and play on potential consumer's ignorance. Unless someone has some actual official data to back up their claim, I take any claim here with a large grain of salt. |

I hope the G97 comp comes with a manual unlike the G80/1/2/3 comps. Even better if the G87 CS still comes in manual.
