Clean new seats before ceramic coating? Gyeon products...

if it matters.

We have 200 miles on our 45e with Ivory Merino leather, and I'm going to apply Gyeon's Leathershield to them. I'll certainly clean the front seats and, perhaps more importantly, the armrests, using Pan's video instructions. I'm debating whether to do that on the rear seats, since they haven't been touched. Is that worthwhile?

How much dark jeans will be sitting on it

Ceramic coating on -any leather - will only be able to be removed mechanically...

Go with something like Colorlouck Shield / Protect.
I would not do ceramic....on merino

Ceramic is great for coated leather IMO,
It does help with dye transfer with the caveat that depending in how picky you are - it slightly changes the color, sheen and texture.

However on Merino.....ceramic, while it will degrade by shear abrasion, it needs to be mechanically removed. I get we're speaking Ivory in color.....but for Merino leather, I'd skip the coatings.

It doesn't hurt to do a test spot on the back if the drivers seat, etc to see/understand the sheen, color, texture shift...
It's not that big of a change and it sorta get's forgotten a week later but it doesn't change it -a bit-.
Coating does wonders for dye transfer but just remember....it's semi permanent.

I did anyway just to get the newest oils off the arm rests and seats. then I used Leather Shield on them. Very happy with my protection and results. Seats still look perfect after a couple months
