Question for a MY23 build

Hello all,

trying to spec & order a MY23 M240i (2nd try). When I spec'd the MY22 early this year I forgot to add the "Cooling & High Performance Tire Package" in order to get the added fender flares. The flares is all I care for TBH. Now for MY23, I see the "19" Double Spoke Bicolor" is an no-cost option comes with the added flares.

I just want to know if that's indeed the case before I skip the $2,400.00 Cooling/Tire package. Can anyone confirm?

TIA

you could also just buy the fender flares separately if you don't want the bigger wheels and tires

I don't mind that. Just don't want to deal with painting the flares after. I don't need the additional cooling but for MY22 I had no choice but to add it. Seems like for MY23 I can.

The "fender flare" is a piece of plastic they stick on there, and I think the only reason they do that is because the lawyers made them. Paying like $2000 for a couple pieces of plastic seems... excessive.

I would suggest making friends with someone that wants the bigger wheels but doesn't want the stick-on fender flares and is planning to remove them anyway.

jpcoop,

Think you miss my point. My question was strictly on if MY23 spec comes with them (flares) when choosing the 19" Bi-spoke Wheel. It doesn't cost anything, at least on the current configurator. Just not sure if it's a system glitch or error.

To spent $2,400.00 on top or not is another decision to make. Not going to break the bank account but first thing first, I just want to make sure what's correct first.

I tried in the configurator and seem that you are correct. To be 100% sure check the latest 2023 BMW Ordering Guide, there on the Wheels page, under the the 19" 893M wheels (1W0) should say something like "1W0 add XXX to the order" where XXX is the fender flares

I have seen this discussed before and I believe the outcome was it was not a free option although it looks like one. I don't recall the thread right now but someone asked their CA and he/she indicated it is not in fact free. I would just ask your CA to confirm. I think it is an error in the configurator.
