893M Wheels

I was able to build a MY23 online with the 893M wheels at no extra charge but the dealer told me I need to have the upgraded cooling and tire pack for those wheels. Is this accurate?

Yes it is. If you want the 893M wheels you have to get the Track Package which adds the upgraded cooling, brakes, and fender flares. If your not tracking the car it's not worth it. I would suggest you add the 797M staggered as they are also black and burnished and are $0.

Make sure you get a staggered setup because if you choose all season you won't get option 840 which is increased top speed. Someone helped me with this when I ordered my 2023 M240i. The wheels I attached above code 1VY keep option 840 which is good.

There must be a mistake in the US configurator. I've got the 893M wheels in my build. ZTK is a requirement to spec those wheels.

While tracking the car makes the package an obvious value, I still think its worth its cost even without tracking. Not so much for the cooling, but the wider tires and the better braking is a huge plus for a car with this type of power in its weight class. I also prefer the look of the fender flares, and the 893M (which are unique to this car) are my personal favorite wheel option - so for me it was a no brainer regardless of intent to track.

To OP,

I posted the exact question. Apparently it is a glitch on the US configurator. My dealer submitted the build. The cooling and tire package automatically gets added with 893M. I'm fine with it. Just thought it was a freebie, which is not likely in today's world.

I understand, but I think the regular M Sport brakes will do just fine, as per the rims I do like them but I also like I option I got and it was $0. The only reason I like the package is the fender flares but I rather just buy those after if I choose to add them.

Ah damn, so it was an error in the US configurator eh?

Thought it seemed odd.

I'd hardly call them fender flares, they add probably a quarter inch for legal reasons..I almost didn't want the ZTK package because of them. But they grew on me, so I get it, I guess

I like them because they made the fat flat fender lip more interesting. Some may argue that without them is cleaner. but down to personal preference.
