What’s the best setting for pops

In my previous M240 with standard exhaust just putting it in sport would give it a nice burble and pops, but in the new M240 I noticed there are several settings in sport and I can’t seem to find a combination to get any noticeable burble or pops, obviously changing the exhaust would help but in warranty I don’t want to go through all that

you'll probably notice it the most in sport +, but it's nothing like the aftermarket tunes you hear

What do you mean it took you a long time to get it right? Get WHAT right? There aren't many things you can change...

Have you ever driven a car before? You have to get the timing right when to release the gas pedal to get the verbals. Especially choosing which gear and which RPM nets the best verbals. It's not a sure fire thing to get verbals with these cars unfortunately, takes a little practice. Sport+ just yields the best opportunity for the fun noises

If you're in the UK, the OPF might mess with your ability to get some good pops. Check out Mat Watson's Carwow review on it...I believe he mentions that in the "5 annoying features" part of the vid. R44 Performance has a vid out there about doing an OPF delete.

The better question is why do people think pops are cool. I hear pops at my house from cars driving over a bridge on a river near my house and it sounds like gun shots.

I find pops and bangs help compensate for quiet exhaust systems we get in most cars today. Adds little extra drama to the car.

Gotcha , it's kind of like old muscle cars back in the day misfiring/popping. Interesting how this stuff comes back.

I personally enjoy them to a degree. Certain cars it really enhances the drama of the driving experience and for other cars its flat annoying. I can't tell you how many times G37s with muffler deletes have blown past me and I thought a bomb went off.

Misfiring? It was all about orchestrating a big V8 with a massive carburetor and lumpy cam through a non-restrictive exhaust.

"Pops" and "verbals??? " sound like someone took the spark arrester off a 250cc dirt bike

Well, yeah. I inherited this beauty when my dad passed, and I've always loved the sound of it.

re: above Z28
Now that is freakin nice! perfect color for that.

Way back when (1969) i both a slightly used 1968 Camaro RS, 327 4 speed, it lasted me 3 months when i unfortunately rolled it over. A dirt track racer bought the totaled car and ran in on local dirt tracks (at least i got to see it have a second life).

Thanks. Fathom Green. Matching numbers, DZ 302, Holley 4 barrel, Muncie 4 speed, and a 12 bolt rear end.

I baby the hell out of it 99% of the time, but she'll get nasty if you jump on her.

Didn't mean to hijack the OP's thread...I read muscle car and had to gloat.

I would, but it's not mine to do so. Just recently moved to UT from IL, so I'm renting until the housing market cools off more around here.
