Question DRIVER TRAINING ANYONE?

Has anyone out there taken a BMW driver training course? And is it worth it? In Canada, the prices range from $290-$3150. You eventually get to take M3's on the track and learn from Pierre Savoy (The guy who taught Jacques Villeneuve and Patrick Carpentier.) I'm very tempted so I would love to know who has experienced it, why, what you've learned and whether or not it's a good investment.

Cheers.

I have my paperwork all filled out for mid-August at California Motor Speedway. Two days of driving my own vehicle, plus a Saturday night dinner. $575 US. Now all I need is someone to give me the cash for my birthday

I might attend one this fall. Dad did it last time when e46 arrived.
He said it's my turn now if the dealer arranges an event.

There is also one at Willowbrook Motor speedway. If you go to one I think you get a discount to the other, or something like that.

I particpated in BMW's 1 day driving school at their performance center in Greer SC. It was a great experience and I recommend it to anyone.

I have done 2!! The first one at the International Airport in Munich, where the BMW driver training headquarter is, the other one at a racetrack in Salzburg, Austria (2 days)! That at the racetrack is awesome, because they drill you driving as fast as possible, backing up with 40mph doing then an 180° turn, etc. Its a lot of fun and you do not use your own car! I will do anotherone next winter!
Its expensive but worth each cent!

As people have said a driving course will improve your car's performance more than any mod for the money. How many of us actually drive to even 85% of what these cars are capable of. I know I'm a much better driver now having done some courses in the past few years.

Join BMWCCA and get in touch with your local. Most regions have periodic driver training whooohoooo sessions. In addition to a good mag (Roundel) and other good resources, you get a coupon for $500 off your next 3 series.

BMW driver training

Last year I took the Advanced and Perfection programs (Level 1 and 2) @ the Abbotsford airport outside Vancouver. Both days were a thrilling experience, driving 330 sedans first, then M3 on the final day. All cars were equipped with SMG.
I highly recommend BMW's training program. You will have a fun-filled learning experience.
