G87 just as powerful as base M4
https://www.bmwblog.com/2022/09/15/h...ase-m4-report/
In other words, the more potent small RWD coupe could have as much as 473 hp while being lighter than the latest M4, but heavier than the old M2 F87 model. I'm so excited. I just put a deposit down myself. It's going to be a very long wait! |

Did you read the article? It states a CS or CSL model would up the power.

Ah I see where your logic is at, I guess we shall see. Would be interesting (and somewhat comical) if they only up the power at ~15 hp each time lol

I found some inconsistencies in this which was originally posted on Autocar.uk . They mention that the M2 will get 444hp, literally the same power as the F87 M2cs. There's only one issue with that, BMW said it will be 'close' to the power of the M2cs, not exactly the same. Furthermore, we know the confirmed power output will be 338kW / 453hp from BMW technical docs. They also cite that the F87 M2cs weighed less than the F87 M2 which is not true. I also have a hard time believing a CS or CSL model would only get this little bump in power. That's more of what I'd expect an M2c would get. For reference the F87 M2 had 365hp, the M2c had 405hp and the M2cs got 444hp. A 39~40hp difference between each version.

Who said anything about the M4 CSL? Since you bring it up, that car has 543hp, plenty of room for multiple variants of both cars. Remember, the F82 M4cs had 460hp while the F87 M2cs and the M3/4c all had 444hp. A difference of only 16hp. It's not all about hp anyway, each version gets its own suspension upgrades, chassis, engine tuning, etc. Think of it more as a package than just pure hp numbers.

460ps (338kW) for the G87 M2.
473ps (348 kW) (13ps power bump) sounds like a proper figure for the G87 M2 Competition expected for August 2024 (± 16 months after first G87 M2 deliveries).
