I don’t have a problem that the car is built in Mexico per se- what I have an issue with is that it’s going to be the first “M” car built in Mexico and me at least, I’d want to wait a few year or even two to ensure they’re up for the cast. M cars are the pinnacle of Bmw German engineering. Are they up for the task? You can say what you want about robots but at the end of the day it’s humans fine tuning the robots.
Plus side I imagine getting the vehicles state side will be faster- I heard the cs was going to be manufactured in Germany which speaks to something. |

The G87 CS will be XDrive only like the G80/2. It is up in the air as to which transmission(s) will be offered, but I suspect auto only. |

No ‘97 MY M Roadster as U.S. E36/7 M Roadster production began in October of ‘97 as a 1998 model which had no ASC. The ‘99 model gained ASC.

The E36/7 Z3 Roadster had been in production since the fall of 1995 and by the time the M Roadster arrived many of the QC issues had been pretty much ironed out. Sadly, the rear subframe issues were never addressed though. Keep in mind that Plant Spartanburg was building E36 318i sedans prior to the Z3 launching. 318i production ceased when the Z3 launched. Demand for the Z3 was significantly higher than BMW had anticipated. |

Many individuals use this logic for the brake calipers when spec’ing a priority one order.
Blue = Subdued Red = Stand out The brake calipers being easily noticeable was a thing, but it appears we might be moving away from that? Example, another German manufacturer offers black calipers at $900. It is currently a very popular option, especially on vehicles that are paint to sample. Most clients prefer that their $12k paint to sample be the main focus and not the calipers. I greatly appreciate that and if we had individual paint for the G87 I would want to follow that direction as well. Last edited by T_U_D; 12-13-2022 at 10:35 AM.. |

Agreed. We see very few BGs ordered with the blue calipers. 90+% have the red calipers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that unless you are looking to be different.

Are all M2s built to be received by Mexico going to be automatic? I was building one and did not see a 6MT ?
