The first sentence you mention black wheels - you can't not get black in your wheels. This is a fad that will go away in due course and is in general, a far more aggressive/douchey look than many people desire (myself included). I understand the playful nature of this car, but it shouldn't be something akin to a Dodge Challenger.

There is no serious paint options for this car except AW and BSM. The grey option is a dull color fad, the red doesn't match the calipers or M marque, and baby blue is just plain weird on any car except a 917k, Ford GT Mark I, or II, or a Matra Simca. IMO.
I'm glad you ended this with a "IMO"

Lol

So all of your dilemmas can be solved with the purchase of aftermarket chrome/silver wheels. Problem solved. You only seem to like basic stuff.. seriously the only colors you find enjoyment in are black or white? C'mon man

I agree, some aftermarket's will be a good idea.

No on the colors, that's my point. I would never even consider black if it weren't for the absolutely MINIMAL amount of options.

I did this morning play around with photoshop and mocked up the front end splitter in white along with the turning vanes and the front end looked remarkably better.

TBH, my gripes about color combination are moot considering my excitement at ordering my first new car, and first sports car. I certainly wasn't hoping to give the impression of negativity toward the product.

I would order Thundernight Metallic over the black, red, blue or grey options. I understand my preferences are different, but I know someone around here agrees with me about black wheels.

Wait I just thought of one car with dark wheels that I like - McLaren F1 LM.

Maybe it's the beaters running around with spray painted wheels that made me feel this way.

I'll bite. Would you care to discuss how many cars have been offered in baby blue, and looked halfway decent that didn't have Gulf livery?

Black wheels have been around for 10yrs on production cars minus Fuchs from way back. Because nearly every version of black wheels looks terrible from lack of maintenance, it's ruined any decent iterations for me. That's not exactly unreasonable.

Lastly, the dull paint options are a recent fad, coming full circle since the 40's and 50's. The fact it started in the overlanding world makes it even worse for me. But opinions vary. The real life photos of the BG actually seem less dull than the configurator.

I have to finalize my build sheet tomorrow and im still torn between colors, mostly because of the garish side sill ahead of the rear wheel. In white it sticks out like a sore thumb.

I'll pass, I can't compete with your esoteric view point. Thanks, please carry on though.

Black wheels were common on the Model T, still popular today, depending on buyers preference:

Yo those must've been the black-optic pack model T's. Highly desirable I've heard

Garage List
2023 BMW M2  [9.17]
2018 Brabus Smart  [10.00]
2021 BMW 330d  [10.00]
Putting my order in today: Black Sapphire Metallic over the M Highlight Vernasca. I figured since I'm spec'ing red calipers, and black wheels, the highlight will break up the black a bit, and the red from the brakes is mirrored in the red from the seat showing through the window.
