I had an f87 and have a g80 now. #1 in the order bank for the g87. A couple things: I track my car and I find the g80 long. I also find the styling of the g87 nicer. The g80 clearly outperforms the f87 but knowing that I can get g80 power train in a shorter wheelbase is a dream for me. Plus it still has a back seat safe for a car seat.

Unless you are building a dedicated track car with top of the line suspension, making one or two changes in the suspension will alter the balance of the car and ruin the overall drivability of it. I see so many ppl do it for cosmetic reasons and then have to drive slow in almost all conditions to prevent tire rubbing, front bumper scraping, suspension bottoming out, not to mention voiding warranty.
I couldn't agree more, my F80 with a HAS kit on it was just awful. Crahsed over every bump. I went with tractive and replaced the stock dampers and it was night and day.

Again, was this HAS you had a BMW M Performance HAS or aftermarket HAS? I've ridden in F80s with M Performance HAS and it had a nominal impact on ride comfort. Had the MP HAS been out when I lowered my F80, I would have gone that route over just springs, which were a bit more bouncy than stocky.

I had the full mperformance kit on my m2c and it was actually firmer damping with a less crashy bump reaction due to better damper. Design. It was a big difference between settings so tunable to your preference. Absolutely an improvement

It'll drive great most likely but doubtful it'll have the same nimbleness as a Supra - shorter wheelbase and 400lbs less. Supras are no joke, with very little relative cost they can easily eat M cars alive on a track - assuming driver mod is sufficient, of course.

G87 will probably hide its weight very well from the butt dyno but not your wallet (consumables)... physics is physics.

I think this is spot on. I'm #3 at my dealer and kinda hoping it takes a while to get an allocation so I get some more time with the Supra before it's time to say goodbye. Weight is the only thing that worries me about the G87...
