I didn’t see any of the deleted posts (if that’s what happened). Anyway, xDrive will be of minimal help in the snow. I had it on my 430d and while it may help you get moving, just, it won’t help you stop or steer.
It’s the tyres that make all the difference. Below, RWD e46 on winter tyres. I drove out of that! |

If you really want to make it work well, get rid of the 8" and 9" rims. They just allow the car to skate instead of getting traction. Case in point just watch the video posted earlier in this thread. Advance it to 14:52. You can see the driver making all kinds of steering corrections and the car doesn't respond. The narrow set up allows for more pounds per square inch=better traction. As Pentland posted, I've drove vehicles out with that much snow on them all the time.

Yes. BMW makes a 18X7.5" that I've seen. I'm still looking. I know a company in the UK that could do it. They are the ones who did my Evo wheels. At the time they were $1,836 for Billet 3 piece shipped to my door. That was pre COVID. Who knows now. I am going to send an e-mail off to them for a price. I know they could do a 18X6. Going to see about 17X6 for us standard brake guys. Tonight I almost got a 17" Enkei to fit. About 2mm more would have done it. And it's not a rim known for caliper clearance.
