Like it, that's a nice little kit there, 200bucks for like 6 items,
the quality is not going to be there but still not bad, I'll have to check on the .ca site though

If there is, or could be, metal in the wood,,, a bi-metal blade is what you want to use. It will cut wood slower but won't dull if it hits a nail. A wood blade will not survive a nail attack.

Garage List
Twenty years or so ago my brother gave me a Japanese pull saw -- wow! Once you make the adjustment, it is hard to go back to a Western style push saw. I bought a number of them and find them very easy to use and very precise. Very thin blades, so thin kerf and less sawdust. Sold on Amazon by Shark Saw. Highly recommended, although may not be what you are looking for here.

I have quite a few of the Ryobi tools and they work fine. I look for combo specials at Home Depot or online, since the usually include a couple batteries. I also bought spare high capacity batteries from a no-name place on Amazon and they seem to work as well as the originals. I use the higher capacity batteries mostly for my leaf blower, string trimmer, etc.

Ryobit cordless are relatively heavy and batteries on the older models don’t seem to last as long, but they have worked well for many projects. If you buy their newer brushless tools they should have much better battery life.

If you want to buy lighter weight tools, this Makita sub-compact brushless line is more costly but so much easier to handle. I could hook the circular saw or drill on my belt clip and climb a ladder or do other work until I needed the saw or drill again.

Prices on tools have also gone crazy. That Makita combo with drill, impact driver, charger and two batteries is now $340, but I think I got it a few years ago on special for closer to $200-225.

As mentioned, the correct BLADE is important for the job at hand. The ends of drawers will be a much finer blade with lots of teeth.

right straight of the back of this, I managed to get some pics, so.. this is the cuboard/ desk of drawers , what wil you.
I'm going to use it basically as a DJ desk in the basement. It's really a fairly sturdy old thing, The drawers are out and I tried some gentle hammering and nothing budged, can see a few pins but seems dove and glue joints, very solidly made, so not your usualy IKEA junk.

So here is where we get technical, After butchering the drawers, this is what I wanna do,

The Desk is going to be facing me (i.e. the drawers part) the back the audience.
I'm going to get some black material, leather, something to cover it all.

I want to use the INSIDE as storage, maybe to house the amps, maybe stuff like that, So I wanna cut and remove stuff so it's easier.

NOW

* There is no bottom that board is just what it's resting on
* I wanna remove the drawer supports rails, again not a problem

* Now see the pic with the numbers 1-4 I wanna chop them on the red lines to enable me to get big things in. I'm hessitant to remove all 4, BUT if I can get away with the bottom 2 that would be great,

* I'm also ok with the center Vertical support.

What I'm concerned is when I put my 1200's, mixer, lighting controls (it also has a glass top) that it doesn't go squeel and collapse

It is sturdy and you can stand on it no problems

Any thoughts

OH this is another reason I need a good saw

It doesnt need to be pretty as only I will see it

Pics tp follow

IF you take 1-4 out, even if you leave 5, *I* wouldn't put a glass top that I want to keep on that, too flimsy.

Can't you just remove the drawer rails and just lay some plywood or something over each section giving you 3 open storage bays? Seems easier unless you have something very large to put in there.

lying in bed unable to sleep, I was also thinking of doing something

I have a big old beast of an amp pv1.2k, and a smaller spare amp both in a transport cases and rolls along it is massive, would like to store that there, also some of the cases/boxes, a few that I carry stuff around when I DJ

good idea to ponder on though !
