G87 M2 at Daytona

BMW is displaying the G87 M2 in zandvoort blue, and man is it interesting…

Here is my take on it. The front end of the car is not “that bad” but still a large step in the wrong direction coming from the F87.

But the back is a complete monstrosity. The rear brake lights round shape clash in a weird way with the rest of the cars boxy look. I think maybe if they were slightly more square and about 30% bigger that would help massively. The diffuser seems to be too far down, and the spacing between everything just looks akward (I still think bigger lights would help fix this). And the little lip on the trunk is kinda eh in my opinion.
I do still think the color might be part of the issue with this, it has a weird saturation to it that is not bold or dull, it looks like a color that would be on a prototype and almost looks like plastic.
But there’s no doubt that these will be insane on the street and track having the s58 in them.
Let me know what you guys think!

So, tell us how you really feel.

Seriously, there is already a post entitled Rolex 24 that discusses this (amongst others).

Mods - maybe we can merge this

That last pic... it is screaming for a larger spoiler.

I am not a fan of the what they call a spoiler on the M240i and surprised they use the same one for the M2 considering the changes they made to the bumper.

It is so off balanced looking at it. It's like a small forehead on top with Jay Leno's chin on the bottom?? Or a thin uni-brow with Jay Leno's chin??

Should be some aftermarket options and AutoID showed off a nice looking one they are designing for the M2 that they have showed in G42 section. But you shouldn't have to buy one... from factory they should have come out with a proper spoiler.

Given that I saw this exact spec G87 last October, I completely agree with the above. ZB simply does not work on the G87. It would be nice if we (U.S) could see it displayed in one or two of the other colors currently offered.

I agree, that lip crap is lame on my M240, too.

M Performance has a cf spoiler for the M2. Wish there was a rendering to see what it will look like on the car.

If by 'badass' you mean Bad Ass, as in ugly Rear End, I agree. This has to be the ugliest rear end Ive ever seen (on a car, that is). This better drive like stink else theyre gonna have trouble unloading it once the gotta-have-it newness thing wears off.

Also, its in the shade so much of the offensive design is camouflaged . The car probably looks its best in black at midnight with 100% cloud cover in the woods.

When prices of the F87 M2C get back to reality, I might pick one up to park next to my new G87 M2. Then I can see what all the fuss is about.

The reality is coming across the board. RNM on this F87 CS the other day. The pre-owned auto market has totally shifted. It has slowed. It is definitely an unfavorable time to be selling.
