???

I think what ppl are saying is that they don’t want a ‘23 model right at the cusp of when it changes over to a ‘24 model year. Not that they don’t want a ‘24

Short model year and an instant hit of being a year old once the 24s begin production. The in-service date has nothing to do with depreciation. 2023 versus 2024 equals a one-year car to dealers irregardless of when it was produced. There are many that seem to believe this will not matter and it won’t initially, but it certainly will down the road.

ID8.5 is also likely for MY24.

This will not happen for MY24. 48v could possibly arrive for the LCI.

I thought the i9.0 would be on the 2023 M2s (releaseing in March 2023)?

My guess is that a hybrid system will be introduced on the M2 for 25MY or 26MY and the manual discontinued at that time. I’d caution against waiting for the LCI or Comp/CS if you’re expecting a carry over powertrain with more boost. This is pure speculation on my part but I personally am not gambling on a pure ICE option sticking around for much longer. The industry is moving towards electrification at a rapid pace.

MY23 = ID8. ID8.5 is SW. ID9 is HW and SW. ID9 more than likely will not come to the G87 until the LCI.

Edit, added screenshot of G87 ‘standard features’ pertaining to ID8.

Probably iDrive 9 coming. Already filtering into other models.

MSRP here. I'll get the BMW CCA 500 rebate though, so that's something.

Judging by your car collection this decision is probably pretty straight forward. For those of who can only afford one Sunday driver, there will be compromises either way.

Edit: even if they release individual colors, I will skip an auto-only version (at least that's what I'm saying for now haha).
If they offer an auto only version once individual color is available than I will just keep my base and see if my wife wants one with xdrive for winter..... That way I can get a good purple.

Probably 10% of customers would have paid for an individual option on this car. Assuming that on a 30k/yr production, BMW is missing out on an additional 15mil/yr in revenue. Stupid.

ID9 will not be coming to the G87 soon. It is not in the recent G07 LCI nor the upcoming 2024 G05 LCI with SOP 04/23. No production model to date has ID9. The first vehicle to receive it will be the upcoming X2.

That is what "scares" me. I am considering passing on ordering when my spot is up if not able to pick Individual paint. However, the 6MT is a deal breaker the get car entirely. I would be willing to live w/ TR if it is my only chance to get the car w/ 6MT.

Hopefully, we get some kind of warning.
