Question I put my deposit for the g87 but I keep seeing this HEA is this for all of the new production cars that are coming out or there’s a cap ? I read there not moddifiable. Also my dealer said it’s about a 8 month wait and I asked him if I could just wait and get it down the line he said I couldn’t get it later on it’s these allocations and that’s it. Also is there going to be a comp package ?
Anddd also he said they’re no making the M2 anymore but I seen a post that production is going until 2029.

He doesn't seem to know much, or is evading the truth to get you to buy a car. It will be in production in current form until '25 before an update that will include hybrid components.

These topics are very searchable - you need to do some homework before talking to your CA again. There will be plenty of M2's for sale throughout this year and next on every car website known to man. If you can't get a modifiable unit for a bit, just wait and buy something built close to your specs or wait until you get lucky it matches your specs.

I wouldn't mind a future hybrid system on the g87 if its similar to the one on the new 2023 Ferrari 296 GTB given it will keep the S58 in the mix with a high tech electric motor with a power output of ~ 150-200hp. Imagine the added power and torque figures

But if we downgrade to a 2.0 liter like the new hybrid C63s did, then please no!

P.S: also weight seems not a big issue given the addition of the battery ; Curb Weight - 3,500 lb

Thanks for the all the answers. Has there been any talks of a comp edition coming out ? I need manual so CS would be out the question if it’s only auto

There are rumours according to this thread https://g42.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=901686 that there will be a comp version of it in the future : "G87 M2 In production until 07/29 | G87 M2 Competition will indeed be called "M2 Competition"."

If I were you I would maybe wait for MY2024, MY2025 to see if indeed this happens because most probably we will get more color options, a M xdrive trans and maybe even an idrive 9 update with different screen/hardware.

I'm not excited at all about color options. We've all been wishing for them, but each time BMW releases a limited or variant model with G8x platform, they've offered LESS colors.

I'm not holding out hope. But TBH, I'm not sure I care if the car is spicy and good enough. Glad I'm on my dealer's list already!
