BMW Star Tires (Tyres)
I know some of you are probably well aware of this, but I never knew the difference between BMW "Star" (OE) tires and aftermarket tires.
I'm still wrestling with the possibility of my car coming with the Pirellis, but I see tire rack lists the BMW "star" Michelins as OE equipment as well. I'm sure the Pirellis are fine, I just love Michelin. This video, though, makes me almost solid on immediately replacing the Pirellis if that's what it comes with. Am I over thinking it? "That understeer is gone" (among other things) sells me on switching to the star 4s's immediately.

If I am to lose the tire lottery and get stuck with the Pirellis I will use them until the rears are toast which I suspect will be around 8k miles. The benefit to waiting, we know with certainly that the MPS4S replacement is coming.

Agreed...and if not, the current PS4Ss will still be available. It will also be the time I will put the new rims on the car. |
