In theory, it all operates under coding, so it wouldn't trigger the BMW system to flag the car right? I've never had any issues with my coding interfering with warranty/service work before.
The forum member I mentioned in my comment has used Protool to make these changes, reach out to them.

There are screenshots in his comments and the tool will back up before you make a change so you can easily go back.

As far as warranty, no idea, but I could see BMW making an argument against warranty if factory settings are changed.

The ECU logs "unexpected" events like additional boost or more power than expected. So, if there's a big-ticket item like a blown engine or transmission, seems likely that BMW would use those logs to dispute a warranty claim.

Aside from just the tunes being available, it's also really helpful to know this engine is even more reliable since it's capable of handling loads more boost and is detuned.

And if you want to add another 10lbs of boost feel free Yeah buddy.

I think the idea will be that if you want more factory horsepower, you buy the CS or Competition when it arrives. Providing a software tune would cannibalize those sales.
