Also, 50 laps in a day is a lot of laps on street pads...
Can you explain ‘opening the brake ducts’. I’ve been on track a handful of times but didn’t know this was something that needed to be done. Is this a simple adjustment?

There are little louvered covers inside the front wheel wells that should be removed for track use to improve air flow. They should be returned when not on the track as they cut down on transmission of water into the braking system in road use.

brake fade was not bad at all, which is amazing...

even though I had less than 2mm left on the brake pads or less, I did not see any brake fade till the end. Which is promising as it was consistent braking power.

8-9 minutes in this video.

I recommend watching the whole thing. They give a good look at the underpinnings of the car and the incredible engineering that's in this beast.

It is. It's a cover that just unclips, you reach it from inside the wheel well. JackiePHD has an underbody tour video where they show how to remove them. I'll look for the link.

Edit: NINJA'ed, drat!

This is super interesting. I've consistently seen people comment that the G87's brakes are phenomenally good. That seems a little odd as the brake hardware is 100% handed down from the G8x (AFAIK), so I wasn't expecting any difference.

I wonder if either 1) BMW made some hardware tweaks or 2) people have forgotten how hard the G8x brakes. I can't assess it myself as I never had the chance to limit brake on a G8x.

It's shown in this video at 0:12 from the official BMW M youtube.
