VIN creation

at what point in the production process does the VIN get created on an order? I have a week 23 build and wonder when the VIN will be assigned to it. thanks

Dealer just placed an order for me this week. Do anyone know how long before I can even start to track the build?

Assuming the dealer has a production number for your build on their system that they've shared with you, you should be able to track with that.

My VIN was assigned when it went from 'scheduled for production' to 'production started' on the mygarage.bmw.com tracking site.

When you hit 150, you receive your VIN. Lots of information regarding this on the forum. Search bar will be your friend.

Thanks dude! I signed up at Bmw owner and checked the production number my dealer gave me and it is in "received" status.

Your order has been received, and we're making space in the production schedule.
