im actually glad that the A4 is getting larger...my biggest gripe with the current model was that the rear passenger's compartment was basically non-existant... aparantly, with this new ones...normal people can fit in it!!!

Also, FYI, S2000 outputs ~240 HP with the 2.2L engine (110HP/l) where A4 foes 210HP with a 2.0L (turbo) engine (105HP/l)... I am sure that German engine F1 makes more than 100HP/l, but that is not to be compared to A4 again... |

The A4 should be a very good handling car if the S5 I drive is anything to go by. It's got a longer wheel base and better weight balance between the axles, the 2.0TFSi engine is a real gem - better than the 325i for performance and economy, though at present there is no real match for the 335i.
As someone already said, fwd is perfect for everyday driving, in fact unless you are intend to throw the tail at every corner the fwd chassis will probably prove to be just as quick and has the benefit of being more efficient with it's power. No, the A4 should be a brilliant rival to both the 3 series and the C-class. |

Anybody already signed up for Audi's Driving Experience? It's a chance to drive the new A4 on a track and compare it back to back with its competition.
http://www.audidrivingexperience.com I'm tempted to go for the $595 program; may be worth it to drive the R8 on a track. |

The 2.0 in the 09 A4 is going to put out 258 lb-ft of peak torque. If it peaks at the same rpm as the outgoing 2.0, that would be 258 lb-ft@1800-5000 rpm. So yes, maybe 211hp is weak, but that torque isn't.
A 2.0 with 6MT could be interesting..

I read the test results and damn those are impressive braking(60-0=107 feet) and slalom numbers(70mph...better then a 335i sedan) for this porky car (A4 weighs 3870pounds which is alot for a car in this category). It would have been a complete car had it only been faster in straight line.
Off topic, I think the new CTS mimics the upcoming A4 . CTS increased their hp to 304 but, it has also gained weight. It too has a great interior, great braking numbers(109 feet) and good enough slalom numbers but, they forgot the acceleration bit. A4 and CTS are just too slow to compete with the rest of the cars in this category. Anyway, A4 is going to be a great car but, if I were in the market for a sports sedan, it would either be the upcoming G37 sedan(7speed auto) or the 335i sedan

So, I'm finally starting to see why people like the Audi interiors over BMW. This interior is pretty classy. However, now i found the exterior pretty lack-luster. It may just be the red that is un-enthusing me though.

looks good but the oerformance is not there. The 328 is just as fast as that car and my 330i is easily faster than that car also. No manual with the V6 just proves what type of customers Audi is selling now and why they future is really looking like SHIT for them. I am so glad I do not sell them anymore as we have a new delaership across the street and I know people that still work there and they cant GIVE these cars away except the A5 and R8 that they cant even get. They just wrote a deal on an RS4 for 1200 over invoice. Give me a break. That might be the most overpriced performace sedan on the road today IMO. They make great looking cars inside and out but it seems like that is the only thing they really know how to do.
