I saw a test between the G37/S5/335i, the 335i was quickest in acceleration to 60,1/4 mile, etc.

Would i be correcting in saying that a 335i should walk an S5 at 6500ft Elevation and hold it's own against an RS4?

Agreed. With the exception of the R8, Audi's most beautiful design to date.

I drive both... you'll waste him. At least I think you would. It never really feels fast. It could be that its really isolating and feels heavy and doesn't provide a remotely visceral experience so it's deceptive.... but i'm assuming its just because it's really not as fast.

If I had the Dinan flash I would not have hesitated. Do any of you know if you get the Dinan flash if they will revert it back to factory flash for free or do you have to pay for that?

'nuff of "I saw this and that" and "I dyno'd" $hit. One of you 335i owners can post on an Audi forum and ask an S5 owner to a race. Let's settle this like real men

As a former S5 owner (sold mine just over a week ago) I can tell you that I had a go at a stock 335i, over here no one tunes their cars. Anyway the S5 has it by about 7 meters (nose to nose) from a rolling start in first till 100mph, after this speed the S5 pulls away with ease. Sorry all you 335i lovers but those are the facts, the 335i is a quick little car and great value for money but it's not got the grunt in stock form to better a stock S5, 355hp vs 306hp and 325ft/lbs vs 300ft/lbs.

Chip the 335i it a different story, the S5 wouldn't stand a chance.

Hmmm, maybe you're right. I haven't been stock for a while... but I really don't feel like the S5 is that fast. My 335i with only exhaust at 275 and 284.. so we're looking at 315 and 325. Add to the fact that the S5 is ridiculously heavy and I just have to give the nod to the 3. I'll try to take the S5 to the dyno sometime this month. I'm curious to see what it lays down. After 100, I believe it, but nose to nose to 100? Interesting!

Calm down guys! There's been a thread!

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140739

I should probably take some better picture with a real camera. Perhaps when my V-35 hood comes in i'll do a photoshoot

It depends what you believe the S5 awd system loses at the wheels compared to other awd systems, most estimate 25% lose at the wheels.

355hp less 25% is 266hp at the wheels. But what if dyno machines doesn't take into account the addition wheel resistance caused by two additional wheels doing the driving, then the lose may be even less like 18% so instead of 266hp ending up at the wheels the true figure is 291hp.

Sorry for not being a beleaver about dyno figures as everything about them are at best an estimate based of what is believed to be the transmission lose without a definitive investigation place to figure the engine on the bench and then what is at the wheels.

All I know is that my S5 was quicker than the 335i I raced that night and by the figure I stated and that things increased when the speed was above the 100mph.

Stock for stock, the S5 and 335i are about the same. It would likely boil down to driver.

There is no way that and Audi powertrain sees 25% loss. That would be completely unacceptable.
