Is it possible to have the break-in service done a little early? I’m at 850 miles, is it possible to book her in for the break in now, or should I wait until closer to 1200? I’m going to be taking a road trip that’ll push it over 1200, so I might try to push her through early.

I showed up at 800 miles. They sent me home. Told me to come back at 1200 miles. They told me the opposite after PPF. Just follow instructions.

You’re not allowed to book your Break-In until you share your comprehensive thoughts on the car with Bimmerpost. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.

Ask your service advisor. Some owners have a reported getting the break in service done before 1200 miles. Seem to recall one poster stating getting it done in the ~800 mile range as he was taking a road trip.

If you get any pushback from the service advisor speak with the service manager. I have seen nothing official from BMW that says how soon is too soon or how late is too late to get the break in service done.
