My point is "No R&D on DCT from BMW." They use off-the-shelf DCT for FWD architecture from Mini.

Correct! even M2 CS will be auto only. They will offer manual TM for current gen M2 untill 2029 according to this blog.

No, Getrag DCT for E92 M3 was specifically developed for that vehicle and for future M cars to come. Ferrari simply followed BMW's development on the matter and used the same unit across all their models from that point on.

Great video with Albert here. It's a shame BMW couldn't continue to refine this DCT. If Ferrari is still using it, why couldn't BMW do the same... ?

Perhaps because the DCT would have required too many modifications to be compatible with the xDrive, the ZF8 is therefore the most cost-effective option.
Go back to 2007, when the DKG was designed, and try to think of an M car with all-wheel drive: that would have been laughable.

Let's not take away from a car manufacturers engineering...

Porsche's PDK is supplied by ZF, BUT "ZF is the manufacturer and they build it to Porsche's specs" meaning they built the PDK in conjunction and entirely based off of Porsche's specs. They're just the manufacturer, without Porsches engineering there'd be no PDK. With that being said, PDK isn't TRULY a ZF transmission as it isn't manufactured to ZF specifications.

Same with BMW and their E chassis DCT, made to their spec for their M cars.
