Any reason why the 2 series doesn't get Driving Assist Pro?
It gets an automated parking feature but not this? Especially when my car has everything included to use an autopilot feature. My mom's Corolla has this very feature that BMW thinks is too premium for us peasant 2 series owners and her car is only equipped with one tiny camera in the front.

I have it in my x3m. Seems like more of a toy than anything. Never used it seriously. If you have distance controled cruise set and you have lane keep assist on, you’re not missing much. The only thing I can think of that DAP really does that the cruise plus lane keep doesn’t, is that DAP will start from a stop again on its own. (If there is a car in front of you. Don’t forget that DAP will drive clear on through red lights if there isn’t someone stopping in front of you).

mudig I'm with you 100%. As you see, some enthusiasts love to hate on ADAS, barking that cars are for driving and not being driven in. I love driving a fun road as much as the next guy, but when you're on a long interstate drive or a boring commute that you can almost drive with your eyes closed, it's nice to be able to take a load off and relax a little while the car handles things. I don't get what's so hard to understand about that. My G42 is the first car in a long time that doesn't have full ADAS, and I do miss it. I love the G42 enough that it wasn't a deal breaker, but that doesn't mean I don't wish it had it. |

As for driving with your eyes almost closed.. like I mentioned I have this system in my x3m and I wouldn’t dare do that. Especially through intersections where it struggles to place the car. It isn’t rare that it tries to incorrectly veer and needs your instant resistance to prevent accident. It also does not see/recognize bicyclists and when you try to steer around them it actually resists and tries to put you into them. Maybe works better with other brands but with bmws currently tech you’re not missing out on anything you can really trust. |

PNTDG42 I'm not talking about or advocating for completely checking out with these systems active. When I use ADAS I'm still fully alert and in tune. And I'm really only talking about using them on the highway anyway - these systems aren't ready for surface streets yet. But even staying alert, it takes a load off and reduces the level of stress and energy when the car is doing the accelerating, braking and steering, especially in heavy traffic. I understand the systems' limitations but still find them to be extremely helpful in making monotonous drives less annoying and draining. And it's actually safer because unlike me, the car doesn't get distracted by screens, a good song, or a nice car approaching in the rearview mirror. It's always watching the road.

If it makes you feel any better the BMW version of this is terrible. I had it on my M340 for many years. First of all it nags you constantly to keep your hands on the wheel. I mean if you take your hands off for 5 seconds it will nag you. Gets really annoying. But the worst part is it drives like a drunk teenager, pinballing between lanes. It’s really bad. Just about every other car I have used with this feature was better than BMW. The best is actually Hyundai. My wife has a Palisade and on the highway you can drive for hundreds of miles without having to touch the wheel and it stays perfectly in the lane.

We are too low in the food chain. Same reason one can't get merino leather, for example.

But I'd love the B&W sound system option. The ambient lighting is fine for me. |

It’s not long before you can put the Christmas tree up and adorn it with as many lights as you’d like 😜

the only thing I envy MB owners is for their ambient lighting options in all models across the lineup. I wish BMW was on that level too with this feature :|
