I am thinking it may be good to put the car back on the Dyno in a week’s timeframe and see if the engine compensate and trims the output. Some stock tunes are notorious for doing this; I am looking at you VAG.

Why does new software mean lower horsepower readings?

Did a quick google search and didn’t find anything.

447 whp
396 wtq
And there's a 10% loss in those numbers?
So that's like 492 whp and 436 wtq? Are these crank numbers? Because 492 whp is what like 541 hp at the crank if we do a 10% drop. That can't be right can it?

They are measuring on a standard dyno, so I'm assuming that's WHP. I doubt they pulled the engine and put it on an engine dyno.

447 WHP sounds similar to at least one other dyno run I've seen, implying that CHP is around 490-500-ish.

Yeah but they stated that it reads roughly 10% under what it should, so that 500 figure is closer to 550. Pretty intense. Can't wait to break mine in.

Feels wrong to me, doesn't line up with other dynos I've seen. But I won't complain if it turns out to be true.

I heard none of that here, so have no clue what you're talking about in this thread. The overrun pops & bangs are usually in the tuning & sometimes amplified in the muffler design.

I full agree on both statements. This really gives a great deal more volume to the already nice sounding G87 exhaust. And it looks high quality as well. Like a system that will age well after burnin process down the road is complete.

Simply wish you made an identical X-pipe for me X3 M Comp. Not just the single flow design you have available now. I much prefer both the smooth yet aggressive sound & looks of this.

Wonder what a one-off might cost me.

car sounds so much better but he lost me when he said there will be more HP after breakin. LOL

EDIT: they should post SAE correction and not set the smoothing so high. anything above 3 is really suspect

465 WHP on IND's dyno https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...highlight=Dyno

470 WHP on a different dyno

If we figure a 15% loss, well there's that 550 crank horsepower. Hell even at 500 crank horsepower, that's still a ton and more than enough to enjoy. This car is shaping up to be a really fun one.

The first clip when it drive off, was horrible.
Was thinking of doing this with a S68 V8 but would be devastated if sounded like that.

Is there a way to get more volume without the cheap pops that 99% of people on the streets don't like?

Don't know what the technical name but we used to call a HOTDOG mounted in reverse. Would this help?

True, I don't know about active sound but when I tuned my last M2 via BM3 I could turn *down the pops...as opposed to the machine guns at my local c&c's

Sean@PSI Since your mid pipe is non-resonated, does it introduce any drone with the exhaust system in the quietest mode/setting (valves closed)?
