Active Autowerke High Flow Downpipes + EL Midpipes + Valved Axle-back [VIDEOS]
Picked up the car from Active Autowerke on Friday after they had it for 2 weeks for R&D on the G87 platform.
They were able to make a valved axleback system, EL and single midpipes. They also fitted my car with their high flow GESI downpipes they have available for the G8x cars that fit on the M2s. If I had to describe the sound it is high pitched at redline giving it an exotic sound, with a good amount of burbles even with a stock tune. But to me the best part about it is that with valves closed on comfort mode there is absolutely no drone whatsoever. Although videos don’t do justice here are some clips I was able to get, I will be uploading more this week. https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0u532ODWSbKaY Stay tune for a youtube video that will be filmed at Active and uploaded sometime next week. Can't wait to hear it! Last night I got to hear a G80 with active DPs and an AWE midpipe and rear section and it was just a little too loud for me.
Any idea what this setup would cost? |

Single was tried with stock muffle and DPs so I can’t really compare to my current set up, I just know it was a deeper tone, but I personally prefer higher pitch sound of EL, reminds me of a baby porsche gt3rs

You I said there is no drone with the valves closed… does that imply there is drone with them open?

Got the system installed this morning. Holy crap, it has completely transformed the car. It's a little scary.
Definitely takes some getting used to at first. I haven't had a car with a loud exhaust in a few years, so initially it was kind overwhelming hearing it just driving on the highway, but by the end of the day I was used to it. All the parts were incredibly high quality. Everything went together without issue. The only thing that's weird is the way the valves work. When I'm driving it and I press the button, the exhaust doesn't get any quieter (at least on the inside), however the pops and cracks stop completely. But when the car is just sitting in my garage running, pressing the button does nothing. The valves don't open. Thanks again to @alan@activeautowerke for getting me squared away. My only question is on the tips. It seemed like the tech struggled to figure out their orientation. Does this look right? |

Agreed...and from what was posted, wonder if the valves are working properly. Last edited by M_Power Rob; 08-05-2023 at 11:48 PM.. |

You can shine a light and look down the pipe while a friend operates the valves to check operation. May be that the spring that operates the valves wasn’t reinstalled correctly. Strange that the pops and cracks are reduced though. Maybe only one side is not operating? Total guess on my part though.
