Nice detailed review. Makes me excited to get mine finally, seems like they fixed a lot of the things I hated about the F87. I do wish the car was lighter though. Somewhere around OG M2 weight would be nice

OG weight? It had the N55. I don't think you could fit an S58 and all of its support hardware (coolers) into that car and keep the weight down.

Not even talking about the increased rigidity the G87 has over the F87.

Even the F87 Comp and CS weighed a lot more than the base F87, because they added things that made it a better car.

I think achieving F87 weight (without losing performance) would take a lot of exotic material that would push the G87 into Porsche prices.

But of course yeah, that would be a beast of a car. I just wouldn't be able to afford it.

Yeah I know, just a dream of mine. The G87 is only 50kg more than the F87C so it’s nothing unexpected. Just a fact of buying a new car in 2023 for the most part. My perfect car would be the Supra with the S58 and back seats big enough for my 3 year old, but it’s just not in the cards

So really, you want a 911 Carrera?

I appreciate his comparison, and I think he's mostly right in his assessment. But I think, objectively, he's dead wrong about trackability.

The G87 would DUST the base F87 on a track. (Not a Comp or a CS, he's talking about the vanilla F87.)

To his credit, he's only using intuition, not testing, and says so. But we've got enough evidence now to know that the G87 meets or beats the F87 Comp on track. The base F87 would have no chance.

I almost bought a 991.2 a few months back, right before I put in my M2 order. It’s just too small for a child really, my wife loved it though which was surprising. Maybe in 13 years when he can drive lol

If you would let a teenager drive a 911, you have a lot more faith / courage than I do.
