Its a shame that the C5 interior ages like a carton of milk, but the rest of the car was pretty epic for the time period. -Nick |

Looking forward to getting it back on the road, it’s been in storage for a few years while we’re building our new house. |

I know it's all part of the hype, but just look at the M3/4C. There have been numerous 60-130 mph/100-200 kph measurements, we know the car is fast, but its not 15% above mentioned power fast, by a long shot. |

I’d like to point out all of these dyno tests are done on a treadmill which is another step removed from what the car will actually do on the street. But hey, I get it Dynojets will give you inflated values (vs. load bearing dynos), so it looks cool. If you want to know how much power it’s utilizing you use trap speed or if you can’t run that, use a Mustang load bearing dyno. My guess is the M2 is a 420 whp car on a Mustang dyno.

Measured real-world performance, the actual track times and measured drag runs we've seen, seem to be perfectly fine. |

0-60 on a narrow street that is a 25mph zone, 30 at best? Screw that. If someone was doing that in my neighborhood, I'd be on the phone with the cops.
Way too easy to cause property damage at a minimum or run someone over, like the tons of kids in my neighborhood. People like that give the rest of us a bad rap. If you can afford an M car, you can afford the track day. Doing this on public roads for some clicks is a dick move. |

There is a young dude who drives an Audi s5 around town. He is always ripping around trying to race people. A couple weeks ago I was walking my dog on a parkway road that loops around a lake which is a 30 MPH road. He drops it into 2nd gear and proceeds to do a pull through 3rd gear probably hitting 80 MPH. I was fuming mad.

Camaro SS 1LE, 6M, weight is 3,747 lbs (2 lbs, less than 1KG difference), HP=455 (2HP more), identical power to weight, wheelbase less than 2 in difference, nearly identical weight distribution F/R. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...d-test-review/ 1LE: 1/4 mile = 12.4 @116MPH vs 12.2 @118MPH, rolling start 5-60MPH = 4.6 sec G87: 1/4 mile = 12.2 @118MPH vs 12.2 @118MPH, rolling start 5-60MPH = 4.6 sec That is exactly the result I'd expect testing a turbo (more area under the curve) vs a NA car with nearly identical weight and HP. (not to mention day to day track variations) Moral of the story, neither car in "underrated" per se, but SAE/ISO and manufacturers tend to certify the engines as HP -0% +5% (sometimes 2.5%). They never want to be under and may be over by 5%. Anyone knows how to use a dyno for development knows that they can only be used for comparisons of before/after mods/tuning, preferably on the same day. They are good for comparisons, not to determine actual exact HP.
