Track Wheel/Tire Setup
I posted this in my Track/autocross thread but thought it would be relevent here to try and help come up with options for people looking to go with an aftermarket setup.
Decided to buy a set of Autocross dedicated wheels/tires. Wheels: Vors TR4 19x10.5" ET22 (Squared) (Cheapest Wheels I could find due to fitment testing) Tires: Advan A052 295/35/19 (Squared) The car is lowered with the AST HAS Kit Fitment Issues: The fender liner on the G8x chassis has been a problem with different people running aftermarket Wheel/Tire setups. With no spacer the tire clears the fender liner however the offset does not work with the clearance of the strut. It will fit with the lugs tight but just barely rubs the strut once you try to spin it. I already had a set of 15mm spacers for my stock wheels and decided to test fit the new wheel with those. With the 15mm spacer the tires have about 1/2" clearance from the strut, but then I run into an issue where I hit the fender liner at about 80% steering. I have ordered some 5mm spacers that should be here on Monday and I will see if those end up putting the tire in the sweet spot or if I will have to modify my fender. Attached photos: Comparison of the height of the stock rear 20" wheel with the new 19" wheel. (New wheel seems to be a few mil taller) Strut Clearance (with no spacers it fits but rubs the strut when spun) Fender gap (with no spacers there is clearance) Fender gap (with 15mm spacers it hits) Fender Poke (with 15mm spacers) Car Overveiw |

Do you have camber plates?
I am debating about using 295/30/19 vs 295/35/19 for my track setup. I am hoping that with camber plates, proper offset, and without lowering I will be able to avoid rubbing. Did you notice any difference in power to the ground using a slightly larger diameter than stock tires? |

Good to see people trying new, more aggressive fitments.
10.5" definitely seems a stretch for the fronts, especially w/ 295s. I would say 10" is the max, and even that has seemed to rub from what I've seen thus far. As far as front offsets go it seems like 19x9.5 +5 or 19x10 +11 would be ideal for being flush once lowered with a couple degrees of camber. Or 19x10.5 +17 in your case but maybe it won't work with the strut. |

Thanks for sharing!
The rubbing that's more common is against the louvers on the vents at the front of the fender liner (just behind the coolers), especially if you need to reverse the car and turn the wheels. A 12mm spacer on oem wheels and tires (PZ4) have given me grief on my driver side vents when going in reverse and needing to steer 50% or more. I'm hoping adding negative camber will work in my favor. If you ran a 295/30/19, I don't think you'll have any problems with clearance? |

I'm starting to Dremel my louvers to see how much I need to remove to clear it...it might be a lot...based on what I have seen with the aftermarket fender liner. |

Apex has verified it’s doable with a 10.5 and 305 on their 18 w 5mm spacer and vent mod. Square is where it’s at. -GT3M2 |

The 5mm spacer came in. The spacers gave me about 1-2mm gap to my strut, but near full lock it was still just barely touching the front fender liner. I was able to take a heat gun and push the fender liner forward giving me full clearance on the front side of the tire. I still touch on the backside of the tire but only at full lock. I test drove it a good bit and did not run into any rubbing issues. I am going to autocross it as is and see if I run into any issues.
