Remote Start 6MT

Has anyone had any success in coding or enabling remote start on a 6MT?

Agreed with this, as it's impossible to code. You might be able to install an after-market remote start module, but if you're someone who leaves the car in gear when parking, that would be a hazard as the car would move forward when trying to remote start.

Sorry for the dumb question...what does remote start mean? Does it mean starting the car from the key fob or does it mean being able to start from the myBMW app? My wife's X5 can be started by either. I don't see the option to remote start my G87 from the app.

There used to be a remote start for manuals that would actually have you exit the car with it still running. When you locked the doors, the engine would then shut off. That told the system it was safe to start remotely.

You definitely need to trust your parking brakes. I'm used to leaving the car in gear and the brake set both. Maybe not great on a big hill.

With heated seats and steering wheels, remote start isn't such a big deal these days anyhow.

Also it's a carbon monoxide hazard in tight spaces. And sure, yes, ideally, people wouldn't remote start a car in a garage and leave it running. But people are people.
