M2 Hitch

So I am adding an M2 to the inventory and I mountain bike a fair amount. What are the hitch options for the G87? I am not looking to actually tow with the M2 rather use a One Up Hitch rack to hold one or two bikes.

I am also have a Tacoma that I can move bikes around in as well, looking for the options to use the M2 some of the time to go and ride.

Thanks in advance

ps I tried searching and could not find anything about hitches.

I’m curious on the same, but looking for small trailer for tires for track days.

Found a number of examples for Corvettes, but it seems highly unlikely there will be a product for the M2 given the size and location of the exhaust.

My guess would be a SeaSucker: https://www.seasucker.com/collections/bike

I considered it for my Mustang. I believe I did eventually find a hitch that was somewhat discreet. I just couldn't bring myself to put a hitch on it. I also never felt comfortable with the SeaSucker option either.

I can only imagine the nightmare a carbonfiber roof and a mishap with a SeaSucker might create. Even if you PPF the entire roof that's a big gamble to take. I also sort of had bike security concerns with a SeaSucker. Not that a Kuat is Fort Knox, but at least you can chain a bike up to it in addition to the flimsy cable that comes with it if the situation seems to dictate a little extra security.

I have a Cervelo R5 that I like to try to get into decent enough shape to do century events with. It would look baller on top of the M2, but I can't see me risking it personally.

I fit my hardtail 29er (size med) inside with the bike front wheel off and the car seats folded.

BMW makes roof racks. Unlikely that you'll be able to add a hitch receiver to the M2 given the exhaust and rear bumper design. If you don't want to use roof racks, maybe consider an X5

I have a 2015 Cervelo R5 Dura Ace that I like to try to get into decent enough shape to do century events with. It would look baller on top of the M2, but I can't see me risking it personally.
So I've used my seasucker on my Supra with both my Cervelo P2 and Cannondale CAAD 10 (not quite R5 Dura Ace but not walmart bikes) on a couple road trips from the Philly area up to Cape Cod (nearly 400 miles) and they were fine. I didn't option the CF roof on my m2 so I can't speak to that but whenever I stopped I just checked the suction on the seasucker and we were good to go. Just needs to make sure you have a clean suction point and those things aren't going anywhere.

Bonus shot of the Supra with the bike on it.

Is it OK to use the SeaSucker with the suction cups over the moonroof? There is not much space infront of it on the M2.

Honestly I would suspect so. its not putting TOO much force vertically on it. Modern road bikes weigh <20lbs and aren't going to provide much lift/downforce driving down the highway. Biggest issue I would think is forgetting you have the bike on there and accidentally trying to open it haha

Additionally, not that its the same but my rear mount was on my rear window (Supra roof is not large haha) so it worked fine on that glass.

Again, no reason to use a Seasucker on a BMW when BMW offers direct-frame mount points for crossbars. Here is my own image of it on a G42. Haven't had a reason to throw my bike on top of the M2 yet, but it's the exact same configuration.

100% if you have no reason to move between cars, roof rack is safer and looks better.

This could work, its not ideal I don't like pulling the font wheel to move the bike but its not the end of the world.

I do not like the suctions cup mount for an enduro bike on the roof, that feels like a road bike set up at best or a bike i dont care about.

Thule sells mounts that let you retain the front wheel. This is just personal preference. I bought a wheel bag off Amazon for $15 and throw it in the trunk with my helmet and gear. It’s actually easier to take the bike on and off without the front wheel, specially with the Thule topride rack I have that clips on using the thru axle.
