I went with the package for the wheel design and larger brakes, and after the fact I do appreciate the fender arches but at first I did not like them. I'll be switching to all seasons once I run through the summer tires.

100% daily driver for me, no track time.

I have the ZTK and I'd do it again, but even w/o you've got an amazing car. The ZTK includes:

  • Micheline PS4S

  • increased top speed
  • larger calipers

I've changed out my wheels to forged (19 lbs) and tires to 265 square with a performance all season (no tracking and PS4S is deadly in sleet).

I don't believe the car 'needs' the additional oil cooler, as I haven't read of any overheating issues.

The larger brakes and rotors help with cooling, not much of a difference in daily driving.

I would hate having a top speed of 130 mph as I often drive 100-110 out in the middle of nowhere in NM and AZ, and passing I will frequently exceed 130 as it comes very quick and easy with the JB4 and downpipe. This shouldn't be an issue for those that never leave urban areas.
Larger calipers and rotors have the “potential” for better braking only a pad change away. Also less dust than stock BMW pads. In brakes, bigger is always better. Even for street driving I would rather have the best brakes I can get.

I'd love to have the larger brakes and more powerful radiator fan. Couldn't care less about the other stuff. All things considered the package is actually a great value.

Maybe for some I guess. Anyone just daily street driving like myself will never need nor notice not having larger brakes and an upgraded cooling fan. But hey if it works for you that’s great. That’s why they have options like this for cars so people can get what they want.

While I’ve not tested a “standard” M240i vs one with the ZTK, if it’s anything like the F36, upgraded brakes will be worth every penny.
Standard F36 brakes were woeful.

Standard F36 brakes were woeful.
I have no experience in the F36 but the standard brakes on my non-ZTK car seem good to me. Never had any issues from low or high speeds with standard spirited road driving. I didn't want this to be a debate with ZTK and non-ZTK people lol. I personally think the package is great for some, just depends on how you plan on using your car.

I'd be a little surprised if there's any difference in stopping difference between the two. The difference will come when you do it over and over and over again. Not an issue for the street.

Totally agree.
Also i doubt if anyone bought this car to be a "competitive" track car.
But some folks (such as I) have run this on a track for sheer enjoyment. The only one I'm competing with is myself in trying to improve my lines, braking, etc trying for a "perfect lap", while having a car with enough performance to make it fun. Nope, its not a "serious" track car. It's my daily driver.

Actually you can have fun with most anything on a track, as the dear departed Sabine Schmitz so aptly displayed beating crap out of a Ford transit van on the Nurburgring. There's a great Utube of it.

Can't recall a single report from anyone who is having issues with the base model brakes and wheels not being adequate.

Several reviews point to the idea that the base model brakes do a good job with no issues.

And as far as tracking the car, I probably wouldn't be looking at a 3900 pound GT daily driver to turn into a track beast. I would have maybe considered the Supra instead.

But I understand that the ZTK is a nice addition to have , because it makes the car that much better

What wheels and tires did you switch to? Did you need to use spacers or anything?
