Piggyback Install

Good evening all,

I recently purchased a RaceChip GTS Black - mainly because I had one for a Kia Stinger a few years ago and I loved it.

My assumption is that similar sensors are pulled to install the piggyback (turbo sensor, cam sensor etc.)

I tried to install this morning and found that I couldn't remove the stock plugs from any of these places. Is there some trick to this like prying with a screwdriver? Do they use lock tight on the plugs? Whatever the case, I really don't want to explain to a dealership how one of these things got broken, so I'm reaching out for help here.

Any advice or videos that I should watch?

I assume you know that you have to pull a grey tab out (fingernails, screwdriver or pick), then depress it, then pull it out.

Sometimes it is tightly sealed, you can insert a pick (90 degree) under the connector to lift the tab from the latch and pull it. You can also try pushing it in, depressing the tab than pulling it out.

So yes, it can be hard to pull it sometimes. Kies has a good video on where to insert the pick to help pull it. Look for Dahler Tuner G80 install.

Hi Mike,

The advice was good. I needed to use a 90 degree pick to pry the plastic tab over the piece of plastic it was catching on. After that everything was gravy.

So far, I love the RaceChip.
