Replace OEM standard seats with Recaro Sport C

What u guys think? Replace the oem standard seats with Recaro Sport C? Looks more comfortable than the carbons and cheaper. And they electric and heated is an option as well as 2/3 door slide lever. 3k a seat. Or just replace the drives seat. Good looking seat.

I sat in the carbon buckets and was not a fan mainly because of the useless centerpiece. I have a 6MT so it would have gotten in the way. I opted for everything carbon except the seats.

Below is the seats I will be getting.

If you have never sat in Recaros like that, I would try before buying. I have sat in a number of their seats similar and they are no more comfortable that the OEM buckets.

Yeah they all have a tight fit, but the ball holder in the middle was the defining factor, especially for a 6MT driver like myself. I don’t understand the point of that or why BMW would design such a thing.

If the OEM CF buckets did not have that feature, I would have ordered.

Is it possible to buy the OEM carbon buckets seats separately somewhere?

I think the carbon buckets are hella comfortable. The crotch guard doesn't bother me and I have the 6MT.

I'm super skinny though so maybe that has something to do with it.

I really don't understand the problem with the stock buckets. I don't know how ridiculously gifted you have to be to have a problem with the crotch guard.
Also ergonomically they fit me perfectly... I just drove 10h last weekend without any problems, with some other cars I get back pain after an hour.

The only gripe I have is getting in and out of the car. Again, being super skinny I don't mind putting my hand down to lift my weight over the side bolsters.

Wife has some thunder thighs and she's not having a good time getting in and out lol. I ordered the leather side bolster covers so that she can get in however she wants without me worrying about messing up the microsuede.

Why not some proper fixed back buckets more akin to the M4csl seats? I don’t know that I could spend that kind of money on adjustable backs

Hey that’s awesome! Some of us don’t like them and that’s okay lol. I think “gifted” is the wrong term, more like standards for those of us who have driven with other carbon buckets in other cars (such as a GT3) and can compare between having a crotch pocket and not. It’s just personal preference, no hate. The only hate I have is that little piece because I do so badly want to rock them.

They look excellent! For smaller built people, I can see them being excellent. They are sub-par for me and my build.

Please remember: we are not talking about quality of build, but personal fitment IN the build.

I've been watching these Sport C too, for my m850 coupe but like all Recaro seats, they're made for small people. Do some searching and you'll see the backrest height is far shorter than oem. In Recaro's media, you'll see a guy in a Porsche and his torso completely covers the harness ports. His head is way above the the top of the headrest. It looks like a kids seat imo. It's the same for the CS- really short seats.

After getting the car and sitting in the stock oem non carbon, I actually am VERY comfortable in the seat and the bolsters and bottom bolsters are great. I decided not to change. I thought the basic seats were not going to be as sporty as they are and very comfortable to DD and long trips. I would not mind taking the car on a 1k mile trip. I actually think the ride is softer in the M2 than it was in my G05 M50i when both set on comfort. And when in comfort it still is VERY responsive. I had the upgraded leather (blue/white) on the G05 which was soft but still think the M2 is softer ride. SURPRISINGLY
