The fact that manual has another pedal that isn’t there in an auto car and a shifter with multiple different positions that you have to physically move to with your hand while timing clutch engagement and engine speed certainly proves there’s more to do and for me that engagement is more fun and a requirement even though it’s becoming obsolete.

I wouldn’t ever consider this car in an AT but then again I wouldn’t buy any automatic cars. My STi and Bronco are both manuals too. Get them before they’re gone and all we have are self driving super fast electric people delivery appliances on wheels that make no sounds, no fuel smells, no gears and no souls.
I also should add i feel having the manual makes it as easy to get them speeding tickets lol

Makes me wonder if this 50/50 fact will make BMW change there mind in offering a manual in the CS, better yet bring back the DCT in the M2.

exact reason i didn't opt for an RS4, or E90, or 996TT etc... this car is meant to be driven and enjoyed, they arent limited production, theres gonna be a TON of them, and i didnt want to fret over every little crease in the leather or flake of snow that falls on it. the G87 is a blast and feels very special but its nice knowing that i am not stacking miles and use on something super rare. one part you did get wrong.... in a decade, I will still be driving and buying manuals. i will just go where the manuals still are, whether that be Honda/acura, toyota, BMW, or other...

caution

I'm not sure which thread to post, I got the stick, so I am posting here. I have never driven a performance car like the M2. In case there are others that also have limited experience - be careful of the sports+/track mode. I floored it pulling out to a busy blvd. The car did a 360. I don't know how I avoided other cars. It will be a long time before I try those modes again.

My local BMW Dealer has three new 2024 M2's sitting on their lot...... ALL automatics.

Speaks volumes about their local customer base.
