Since I started this thread, I figured I'd come back with an update.

No longer daily driving the M2. My sister got a new car this weekend and she was driving the 2014 Chevy Cruz she had all through college and law school. My father bought her the car in 2015 with 9,000 miles on it. It's at about 120k now. The dealer offered her $500, I offered her my old iPhone.

She took the iPhone and now I have a daily. My M2 will no longer see rain and will never see snow.

I have over 10k miles on the car now and just picked it up from service on Friday. I had a plan to get to 10k before I send the ECU out and we really start turning up the car, so the timing is absolutely perfect.

I rotate my car on a daily basis, never drive the same car for two days in a row unless there's specific requirements of certain types of car.

For the most part I daily drive my 2023 G87. Maybe once a week i will take my wife's X3. The G87 is a solid vehicle to use daily, especially in comfort mode. But, i plan on picking up another vehicle to break up the week even more. Enjoy the ride!

Question for anyone who may know about Tuxmat Floor mats. I cannot get a solid answer from Tuxmat. Do the mats for the 2 series (230i / M240i) also fit identical inside the G87?

I believe the current all weather floor mats for the M2 are shared with the standard 2 series when I went to the dealer.

I did the same thing when I lived in Livermore CA. The exception in my case was on rainy days -- all 1 of them... -- I'd take the car with the better tires.

They should with the AT, but require some modification/finesse with the MT. I had to cut and use carpet tape, also a clutch stop would help.

M2 is daily so long as the weather is good (no snow, ice, major salt). I have an old RAV4 that I drive weeks like this one that mostly sits in the driveway otherwise. Not even worth a picture. .

I decided to go that route instead of winter tires when last year my son in his 435i ate an ice chunk on the highway going to work and crushed his A/C condenser, radiator and about $500 in misc plastic. Reminded us that it’s not just about traction, ice chunks are in the roadway and constantly falling off of cars/trucks. Fortunately didn’t damage his bumper/grills just all the lower plastics.

Don't have my car yet (just finished assembly). But I will be using it as a daily. Don't have another vehicle.

I daily the crap out of mine. Probably will put 12K in the first year with no shame. Why pay 75K for a garage queen. I drive this thing the way God intended if I was worried about money and depreciation I'd have bought a used Camry. I have 6Spd manual too in the city haha

I daily a F87 M2 CS with DCT. My other car is a 2024 718 Cayman S with PDK that I use as a weekend car.

I use the M2 CS as a daily because it gets less attention than the Porsche.

I did almost 11k in less than 6 months. The car is awesome to drive. I just don't want to lose it because of other drivers and unsafe road conditions. There are so many drivers here on Long Island and the overwhelming majority are terrifyingly poor at driving.

Sucks to see it sitting in the garage, but better than getting rear ended again or worse. Last time the PPF saved me, I don't think I'll have that luck again.

I daily mine. Unless there's snow, or much salt. It's interesting the garage currently, but when the weather changes, it'll be right back out. 10k miles since 4/10/23

I wish I could daily it, I literally have nowhere to go since I work from home. I guess I need to start looking for an office job?

I’d literally hourly this car if I could, I love driving it so much.

I feel the same way. I have to invent reasons to go out and drive. Barely have 2k on the car since October.

I daily drive whenever it isn't too crappy out (close to Lake Huron, a lot of lake effect snow). I bought the BMW winter tire package (which looks almost as good as the summer rims IMHO) so that helps a lot.

But I have a 2022 X3 M40i that I quite like as well so on crappy days I take that. First world problems and all that...

I mostly work from home, and I was absolutely finding excuses to take the car out until it went below freezing.

"Hmm we are a little low on milk."

"But there's 2 gallons in the fridge!"

"Never can be too careful!" (grabs keys)

Got my 2024 M2 a month ago. The only days it hasn’t been driven were days when we got 4” of snow before I had the opportunity to change out the tires. I also have 2 kids who ask to ride in it as much as possible!
