digital key standard vs plus
I think this was discussed elsewhere, but I still can’t seem to find a definitive answer to this question:
Does the 2023 2-series have digital key or digital key plus (And if it’s the standard version, is there a workaround to upgrade to digital key plus)? |

Noob question. What's the difference?
Also, I saw a reference somewhere about needing to get the phone charger option for digital key functionality? And saw a Youtube video on digital key and they placed the card on the phone charger tray, but it wasn't clear if that's just where the sensor was or was a charging tray. So, if you want any digital key functionality, do you need to get the phone charger option? |

I believe you can get the Digital Key option without the charger depending on region. They would just place an NFC reader there instead of a charger / NFC.

Digital plus uses UWB rather than NFC. This means you don’t need to take the phone out your pocket or put it in the charging cubby to open and start the car. You can simply have the phone on you. You need to put you digital key (phone or card) in the charging tray to start the car. |
