Frozen Portamao Blue G87

Hi Everyone,

If anyone has anymore live photos of theirs or someone else's Frozen Port Blue G87, I would love to see more photos. I have recently changed my option from ZF to Frozen Blue.
Pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

They pulled the frozen colors - I know of one having been shipped, been waiting since October and due for build next week. Cost for mine was $2350.

I just spoke to my guy, and it looks like the price was raised to $5,500, and there is a 2 month wait. BMW literally raised the price and just seems to continually make it harder for M2 buyers to customize. Fucking M3/4 buyers have hundreds of options . We get the shitty end of the stick. Im going to stick with ZF blue. I was also told that the frozen colors are becoming available for some of the electric models and basic BMWs. So, eventually we will see Frozen colors on a lot of cars. Im happy to stick with the unique ZF blue and they claim they arent allowing other models to have that color either, so its super unique. It is what it is!

That’s insane, it should usually be higher prices for the more higher end models. Doesn’t make sense that it’s $4,500 for an M3/M4 but a $1,000 more for the M2. I’m assuming the factory has some production issues/constraints with the paint.

I agree! i was shocked. Definitely made it easy for me to finally make a decision on the color. The Frozen colors will apparently be like the brooklyn grey where you see them on everything. I even see that color on Camry's, Corollas, and I def dont want it if the same thing will happen for the frozen blue and grey.

I’m doing matte PPF on my ZF Blue when I pick it up tomorrow. Unique AND still get frozen. Done deal.

It's on the builder and it's $2,300, regular metallics are already +$650 so it's not that crazy a price bump. Inventory manager at the large dealer I ordered with says it's a 1 month delay on my mid-feb. build week

Yeah i saw that it was 2,300 on the build as well, and when i brought that to the GM's attention he said BMW bumped it to $5,500. 1-2 month wait sounds right. The price definitely doesnt sit right with me, but thats all preference and budget.

yeah I think your dealer is trying to ADM you without saying as much, it's the price on the builder I just added it to my order earlier today and confirmed it.

I think that it the way to go. The cost would almost be the same and you are still protecting the paint.

Yep this ^^ I do love the new frozen paint but the cost and then PPF to protect it is double doing this lol.

Yeah the stealth PPF definitely changed the game, really just a huge fan of portimao blue though so when it popped up as a option I had to jump on it, will deal with the frozen aspect as a result but from my initial research it seems it's actually a hard/tough paint so while scratches/bad scuffs are a nightmare to deal with they are less likely to happen in the first place. Plus there's paint sealant/ceramic coating that can go on it which is a huge plus for dealing with water marks bird droppings etc.

Still PPF'ing the front strap and side skirt though because the gravel/sand trucks on the highways in my area give no f*cks lol

Question about this though, do you still do a ceramic coat as well? I know on my car ceramic coating gives it a great shine after washing it. Would ceramic coating a stealth wrap “neutralize” the matte finish of the PPF?

Not that I am aware of, it will more than likely just have hydrophobic properties. I use STEK on all of my cars which comes with hydrophobic ceramic embedded already, which is also why it’s usually a bit more expensive but worth it.
