Weighted Alignment on lowered car?
Who has done this?
Afaik, BMW doesn’t align lowered cars and my intuition is that they do this because their new alignment machines use software to simulate pre-load. Hence why they only provide a 10mm drop on their HAS kit which = the range of tolerance within the machines readabale ride height. Before anyone says that BMW doesn’t do weighted alignments anymore, they physically don’t put any weights in the car anymore, but I’m pretty sure it’s integrated in the software now. So this brings me to the next question, has anyone bothered doing a weighted alignment at an aftermarket Indy with physical weights (sandbags)? Because logically, BMW has always done weighted alignments on their cars as per workshop manual indication and all new cars they sell are also adjusted as such. Therefore, if one gets an alignment done unweighted, it’s probably not the correct alignment spec sheet?
