Frugality not withstanding, I’ve heretofore (since October delivery) resisted replacing perfectly good factory parts. However, cleaning the wheels 2-3 days weekly has me on the cusp of replacing the pads. Basically my time is spent in equal parts driving and cleaning.
Which pad brand did you buy? I’m looking at Carbotech and Isweep. |

Do you mind providing your opinion a bit more on them vs other choices you had in mind? I’m on the fence about which pads to go with. This dust F’ing sucks. |

I spent a lot of time reading through the pages of brake pad discussion in the M3/4 forum and it seemed as though the general consensus was that the ISweep pads were a drastic improvement over the OEM pads from a dust and squeal perspective. Others were seemingly happy with other manufacturers like EBC etc… but I decided to give the ISweep a try and I’m really happy with that decision. I ran the OEM pads for 1200 miles and I’ve put about 1200 miles on these new pads. From my experience I feel the 2000s stop better than OEM, but they say the 1500 pad is a closer comparison to stock. I’m very pleased with the lower dust, it’s still there but not nearly as severe as OEM pads. For me the biggest benefit was the fact that the squealing brakes were gone! It was so bad my son said I should nickname the car “freight train” because it sounded like one coming to a stop! I keep my car pretty clean so the dust, while annoying, it cleans up pretty easy with coated wheels. So the lower dust was more of a additional benefit to me. Overall I would highly recommend the ISweep pads!

I went with the iSweep 1500 on both my M2 & my wife's X3MC. Virtually zero dust. I cleaned my car last Saturday, and 300 mi later wheels are still nice & shiny. Stopping power is as good as stock for street/spirited driving.

Picked our Arizona M240i for tire/alignment/ brake flush service a few minutes ago and asked for a quote on G87 Isweep 1500 and other brands they market. Ready to move, frugality vanished.

I totally get it. Going to see how much easier the new wheels will be to clean thanks to the simpler design. But unless it's dramatically easier, I may not last the life of the oem pads either and jump to the isweep 1500s. |

Back on topic for ZB, I have been to 3 dealers this month to see their G87s on the lot and see the colors and options in person. I'm thinking about trading in my '21 M2C for a 2025 when ordering starts.
I also went over a friend's house this month to see his '24 Toronto Red G87. Got a ride in his car, saw his BMW M2 winter wheel/tire package, and picked his brain a bit. Color is obviously subjective, and I told him I wasn't crazy about the orange hue in the Toronto Red color. He agreed, saying he didn't love the color either. He told me he's seriously considering trading it in for a 2025 in Skyscraper Grey. (He filled in a BMW survey and complained about certain features he didn't like with the tech upgrades over his previous M2C. He got a phone call from a BMW corporate guy asking his opinions on changes he would like to see. The corporate guy told him, among other things, that Skyscraper Grey was a likely 2025 color.) I asked my friend why he got the Toronto Red if he didn't really like it, and his answer was that it was the best of the available colors in his opinion. Anyway, I have always liked white cars and figured if I ordered a 2025 it would probably be white again like my M2C (and my 2018 Camaro 1LE and 2015 M235i). But, this past weekend I finally saw Zandvoort Blue in person and LOVED it. For a non-metallic color, it just popped. I also like the idea that it's unique to the M2 for now. I have months to decide and haven't seen Brooklyn Grey (or whatever new colors might be available in 2025), but for now, I'm seriously thinking ZB is the color for me.

It’s not for everyone, but the stealth PPF on it to give off a frozen ZB color breaks necks on the road. I constantly have people taking pictures of it. And on top of that, get rid of the wheel gap with some nice adjustable springs and that car commands attention. Best of luck with your choice! FWIW- if skyscraper grey was an option, that’s what would have been one of my top choices. |

I should have a rendering in the next couple of days of them. They haven't been made yet
But will do. To clarify, they are on order and being made, but should have a rendering of them in the next few days. |

I was all in on Toronto Red until I saw ZB in person. Picked up a HEA in ZB soon thereafter.
