is coding heated seat possible in 2022 G42?
hey friends,
hope y'all have been well. just as the title says - is heated seats possible in a 2022 230i that didn't come with the option? and I mean code it through bimmer or have someone code it can't find the buttons to insert into my center console but that's a different story. bmw parts guy said I would have to purchase the entire console to get those 2 heated seat buttons remember this is the model year right before BMW transitioned to the single screen display and no console buttons, so in my model heated seats still need the physical buttons |

I have a hunch that the hardware is already in my seats. my belief is that bmw has factory hardware for all of them but removes the functionality in the car for models without m sport pro

Before you try any coding to enable heated seat functionality you need to visually confirm the seats are heated. Even then I would not assume you could code the heated seats feature to work. |

Read an article last year that talk about BMW considering having heat seats as a subscription for the ROW. however that doesn’t apply to US spec cars and I’ve not read if they started subscription program.
If you have an option to subscribe to heated seats then the hardware is in your card. Otherwise I’d assume it’s not there. |

This might not apply to bmw but I used to have a Camaro SS 1le without heated seats. Chevy had the hard ware for heated seats in all of their recaro seats so all I needed to do was purchase the wiring harness and it tapped into the same power that powered the seat itself so it was like factory. Although it did require wiring an aftermarket controller for the seat and mounting it somewhere. Best bet is to remove the seat and check if there is the hardware under it since that is how camaro owners (with recaro seats) found out we had the hardware the whole time..
