Michelin Pilot 4s vs 4s BMW star
Some folks were wondering about the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s BMW star version of tire and the difference with the regular 4s. Note: Michelin makes a BMW spec tire that is referenced as the BMW star and has a star embossed on the side of the tire.
There is a web site tyrereviews.com that has an article specifically on this. Look under "features" on the right side and the title Michelin 4s and BMW Star or something like that. There apparently is considerable difference, the author spent time with a Michelin rep and the details are included...an example: Quote:
Also Pirelli also makes a BMW star specific Pilot Zero pz4 but i don't know the specific differences on that tire. That tire is very common factory provided tire on the M240x. |

Haven't checked the link yet, but did Michelin confirm the BMW spec'd 245/35 is a 6.8" tread width compared to 8.6" for the non-BMW spec?

Rears not available in BMW Spec Tire
Michelin makes the OEM spec Pilot 4S for the fronts (245/35ZR19) but there is no OEM spec/star Pilot 4S for the rear (265/35ZR19)
model Car: 2019 M2 Competition What is the resolve here to get the same tire on the rears? |

I don’t know fitment of f87 M2c but you could go 275/35r19 that does have a star spec. Or simply go with non star ones which is fine
