Bimmertech Alpha 1 Speaker Set
I have for sale an almost new set of Alpha 1 speakers that I installed in my 2022 m240i with the Hifi system. Bought brand new from Bimmertech last year and had them for less than 5k miles of light use. All are in great condition with no damage, original packaging. These could also make a nice upgrade for the HK system for the speakers that matter most. This includes 5x mid-range (front, center, rear not pictured), 3x tweeters (front, center), tweeter and mid crossovers, plus a new trim tool kit $20 comparable value. These are going for $745 + S&H new, I'm looking for 20% off and I'll throw in a free trim tool kit and S&H to the lower 48. |

Question: You posted before that "100% guarantee you won't like what you hear if you go with just the Bimmertech speakers and not the amp. Recommend starting with amp and then speakers." So just swapping my HK drivers with these won't sound good without an amp? What amp did you use/recommend?

Lots of folks seem to rave about the Alpha 1 speakers. Every person has different hearing. In full transparency, I am used to silk dome tweeters from my high-end home audio system and tend to favor the sound signature of soft domes vs. aluminum. These do offer better distortion through the midrange/treble vs. factory speakers, and improvement in power handling. I decided to upgrade to the Morel Reference IR-42, which was a big step up in price for incremental gains over the A1 speakers.
For the amp, I used the Audiotec Fischer Match amp. Well worth the money, but it will also cost you 2x of upgrading the speakers. The point I am making is if you are expecting a massive improvement from just changing speakers, it's not going to be as dramatic as being able to fully tune the system via DSP.
